Hello Everyone. Thank you all so much for contributing. I am getting some great ideas.
Earlier this year I sent out letters to all of DH family that I could think of. I asked them to send in their favorite family recipes, and a little about the person from whom they got it. It was great to see recipes from a great grandmother, great aunt, ect, and read the stories about their memories of eating certain dishes. I have been working on scrapbooking them into 9x9 booklets. I then color copied each one. Instead of buying each aunt/grandparent a book I have been using the plastic protect sleeves and threading a pretty ribbon thru to hold them together (cheaper for me with all out of state shipping) They can then put these in 2 ring binders and add to them as they like. This is also a good idea for wedding showers, and can be done as a "advice" booklet for new moms at baby showers.
I love the ornament exchange idea, as each year when we set up our trees (yes multiple ) I remember when/where/from who we got each one. My kids love hearing the stories behind them too.
It's funny, that the Cardnials got mentioned. I bought some printed fleece earlier this year with the hopes of a World Series in mind Now I have new ideas as to what I should do with it!
I am making a list as I read all of your great ideas! We have such creative board members!!! Thanks again, and please keep them coming.
